The Chandragiri cable car whisks you from Thankot at the valley's southwestern edge up to Chandragiri Hill (2,551 m) in under ten minutes. At the top: the Bhaleshwar Mahadev temple, a grassy summit park, and on clear evenings a sweeping view over the whole Kathmandu Valley with the Annapurna and Everest ranges faint on opposite horizons. Cafes and picnic lawns make it an easy half-day.
