Chhomrong is many trekkers' favourite overnight on the Annapurna Base Camp route, and not only for the views. Its teahouses are among the most comfortable on the trail, and the village is famous for German-style bakeries serving apple pie, cinnamon rolls, and real coffee — a small luxury before or after the climb to the Sanctuary.
What to expect
Twin rooms (some with attached bathrooms in the better lodges), warm dining halls facing Annapurna South, hot showers for a fee, and reliably good kitchens. Because Chhomrong sits on a steep slope, lodges are spread across several levels of the village.
Useful caveat
This is the natural place to break the journey both going up and coming down — and the last spot with this level of comfort before the higher, simpler lodges toward MBC and ABC. Stock any snacks or supplies here; prices climb sharply higher up.
